What’s the Problem?
This NHTSA Recall began in July 2020 and affects 2013-2015 Ford Escape vehicles which were previously recalled but may not have been repaired correctly.
A component within the door latches on the recalled vehicles may break, making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when it is not, according to the NHTSA. A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to the occupants.
If you purchased a Ford Escape that is affected by this recall, you should contact your Ford dealer to schedule a free inspection and repair.
